Bloody Beetroots Live

  • Artist: The Bloody Beetroots

After becoming one of the most sought after acts in the world of nu electro, The Bloody Beetroots are planning to take their sound live in 2010. Not just live as in DJing/ playing off laptops - there's already been plenty of that, as anyone who's attended the biggest electronic music festivals could tell you. Nope, the Italian group is preparing to reinvent itself as a full-blown rock and roll band - with electronic elements of course. They are even planning to add a third Beetroot to round out the band.
“We’re evolving into a new live format with more real instruments on stage,” said main producer Bob Rifo in a recent interview. "I’ll be playing guitar, bass and keyboards, there’ll be a drummer and Tommy on stage too.”
Of course Rifo has roots in punk rock, having played in a number of bands and worked as a rock producer for many years. He's also got a hardcore rock side project going with Steve Aoki, appropriately titled Rifoki. Steve Aoki, of course, collaborated with the band earlier in 2009 on The Bloody Beetroots Warp.
Given the duo's over the top persona, the Bloody Beetroots live experience - which Rifo is dubbing "Death Crew 77" - should be something to behold. Among the dates they've already confirmed - the first-even Creamfields festival to be held in Australia, which takes place in May. As part of the "Death Crew" launch, the band has just released this video for brand new single "Domino."
