Tiesto DJ Mix | DJMIX.FM

DJ Tiesto (real name Tijs Michiel Verwest) was born in the Netherlands in 1969. As early as 1985, he was DJing at several clubs in the Netherlands, played industrial music and early acid house.

By the early 90s, Tiesto had begun releasing his own records, creating gabber hardcore under aliases like Da Joker and DJ Limited. In 1994 he signed to Basic Beat Records, where he met fellow artist Arny Bink. Further releases on labels such as Bonzai Jumps helped build his reputation as one of the leading trance artists. In 1997 Tiësto and Arny left Basic Beat and launched their own label, Black Hole Recordings. Tiesto later created two sublabels, In Trance We Trust and SongBird.

Tiesto's fame as a trance artist and DJ continued to grow in the early 2000s with his trademark "Tiësto Solo" live sets, where he would DJ for as much a six hours.

In 1999 and 2000, Tiesto teamed up with fellow trance artist Ferry Corsten to create the group Gouryella, and, a year later, released his debut solo album, In My Memory. Tiesto's fame as a trance artist and DJ continued to grow in the early 2000s with his trademark "Tiësto Solo" live sets, where he would DJ for as much a six hours.

In April 2007, Tiësto launched his radio show, Tiësto's Club Life on Radio 538 in the Netherlands. His latest album, Kaleidoscope, was released in October 2009.
