Anton Zap

  1. Russia has long had a thriving electronic music scene but until recently there have been relatively few producers that are taken seriously in the Western press. Anton Zap looks to change that.

  2. The Moscow-based producer has more than a few friends on the other side of the Atlantic, judging by his collaborations with house music stalwart DJ Jus Ed. And you could hardly hope for a better pedigree than to have one of your first productions be released on Detroit label Deep Explorer, as with Anton's lush split EP with Dubbyman and Lady Blacktronika.

  3. Anton Zap delivers hazy, narcotic house music that recalls the best of producers like Move D and Mike Huckaby, music that is ideal for a deep house DJ set but also makes for excellent listening away from the club.
  4. But more importantly, the sound here is as fresh as they come. Anton Zap delivers hazy, narcotic house music that recalls the best of producers like Move D and Mike Huckaby, music that is ideal for a deep house DJ set but also makes for excellent listening away from the club.

  5. Taking influence from both classic Detroit and the new tech-house sound coming out of Berlin, Anton has already racked up an impressive catalog of releases on labels like the aforementioned Deep Explorer, as well as Poker Flat and Cocoon. He will definitely be a producer to keep an eye on in house and techno circles in the near future.
