Jono Grant and Paavo Siljamäki met while they were at college, and, united in their appreciation of trance and electronic music, set up the Anjunabeats label. Their 1999 release of Anjuna Beats Volume 1 quickly got picked up by DJs including Pete Tong and Paul Oakenfold. The group gained in popularity and completed trance and dance music remixes for high-profile artists Madonna and Tomcraft. Tony McGuinness officially joined the group a year later while he was working on a remix with them.
In addition to their artist productions and live sets, Above And Beyond have become well-known for their weekly DJ mix radio show, Above And Beyond Trance Around the World.
